Kobanê- The enduring defense against terrorist attacks of Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group continued in Kobanê, Jan 29, the 137th day of resistance.

 

The campaign to liberate Kobanê, launched by our forces of the People’s Defense Units (YPG) and the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ), continues with all its power. Following this campaign, our units yesterday, Jan 29, carried out numerous operations in the villages of West Kobanê, and managed to liberate several regions.

 

The operations were conducted as part of military campaign to liberate Kobanê Canton. The villages of Çolbeg, Çikurê, Zorava, Mezra Erbuş, Minaz (and 3 surrounding villages), Numanê Sheikha, Girê Izea, and Şehîd Êrîş were liberated by our units as a result of operations in the rural area of Kobanê where terrorist forces were forced to flee the cited areas.

 

In these operations our units were able to seize 5 military vehicles, an Ambulance, and capture a VBIED plus a large number of weapons and ammunition from the terrorist forces. Number of terrorists’ casualties killed and wounded during this campaign were not verified by initial reports.

 

Our units of the YPG/YPJ are correspondingly continuing to advance in the East and Southeast of Kobanê. In the operations conducted yesterday, our forces managed to liberate the villages of Qaramezrê and Sheikh Çoban from terrorist groups. A large number of weapons and ammunition were also seized on this front, numbers of terrorists’ dead were not immediately confirmed.

 

Three members of terrorist forces were captured by our units during the operations on Jan 29, profiles of these terrorist affiliates, all of whom from Aleppo province, are: Muhammad Darwish from Sarin, Muhammad Ibrahim from Al-Safirah, and Jamil Hussein from Deir Hafir.
