Kobanî– The resistance against vicious attacks of Daesh (ISIS) terrorists who were attempting to occupy Kobanî, continued on the 126th day.
Our forces last night initiated a major campaign against terrorist forces in Kobanî and controlled over 70% of the city. In these course of operations severe and strategic losses were inflicted on terrorist groups.
Our forces of the People’s Defense Units (YPG) along with the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ) who had earlier secured 70% of Kobanî from terrorist forces, last night conducted a major operation to liberate the Hill Mishtenur. In this campaign backed by the International Coalition’s air support, heavy fighting broke out between our forces and terrorist elements. After a direct confrontation, our units managed to liberate the Mishtenur Hill. Despite all the attempts made by terrorists to stop the advance, our units progressed effectively, and took the full control of the strategic hill in southeast Kobanî. In this operation which lasted until the morning hours, more than 40 members of terrorist forces were killed, no casualties were suffered by our units during this campaign.
In this operation our forces were able to seize 3 bodies of terrorists, 1 DShK 12.5 and 150 shells, 3 PK machine guns, 5000 PK bullets, 8 AK-47 rifles, 21 magazines of AK-47, 3700 bullets, 1 RPG-7 rocket launcher, 7 rockets of RPG-7, 16 hand grenades, 2 hand-made mines, 1 binocular, and a number of other military equipment from terrorist groups.
Meanwhile our forces of the YPG/YPJ targeted terrorist groups positioned near the Hospital on the Southern front. As a result of this assault operation 2 terrorists were confirmed killed, 1 AK-47 rifle, 6 RPG-7 rockets, and 6 hand grenades were seized.
